What is this Aam Aadmi Bima Yojana?
This scheme has been specially designed for unorganized workers and the poor. Its purpose is that if the earning member of the family dies or becomes disabled in an accident, his family does not have to run from pillar to post. What are the benefits of joining this scheme?
This scheme offers 3 big benefits:
- Financial help in case of emergency:
- If the member dies due to normal death (due to illness etc.), the family gets ₹30,000 see you.
- In case of death or total disability (such as loss of both eyes or both arms/legs) due to an accident, the family ₹75,000 see you.
- If the accident causes partial disability (such as one eye or one arm/leg), ₹37,500 Get help.
- Children’s education will not stop (the most important benefit):
2 children of the member of this scheme, who are studying in class 9th to 12th, Scholarship of ₹100 every month Is given. This money is sent directly to their account twice a year (on July 1 and January 1), so that children do not have to leave school due to lack of money. - Nominal annual installment:

Who can join this scheme?
- Your age should be between 18 to 59 years.
- You must be the head or earning member of your family.
- You may be below the poverty line (BPL) or slightly above it.
- You work in one of the 48 jobs identified by the government, such as: beedi workers, brick kiln workers, carpenters, cobblers, fishermen, rickshaw/auto drivers, sanitation workers, construction workers, Anganwadi teachers, and many other hardworking people.
How to apply and claim?
The process of joining this scheme and claiming after any untoward incident is very simple. one for this nodal agency (Government appointed organization) helps you. On death, the nominee has to submit the death certificate and other necessary papers to this agency, after which the money comes directly into the account.
