Fast story of Somvati Amavasya
According to the legend, there lived a poor Brahmin in a kingdom. Due to lack of money his daughter could not get married. He was troubled by his poverty. One day, a Brahmin couple asked a sage for a remedy, and the sage in deep meditation told them that there was a washerman in a nearby village, who lived with his son and daughter-in-law. Who is extremely moral and ethically rich and manly. If your daughter serves her and that woman applies vermillion on her forehead, then your daughter’s marriage will be successful and her marriage will also be fine.
Hearing this, the Brahmin asked his daughter to work as a washerman. The next day the daughter would wake up in the morning and go to the gold washerman’s house, do the cleaning and all the other work and return home. One day Sona Dhoban asked her daughter-in-law that you get up in the morning and do all the work and you don’t even realize. Brother-in-law said- I thought that you wake up early in the morning and do all the work yourself and I wake up late. Surprised by this, both mother-in-law and daughter-in-law thought that tomorrow they would keep an eye on who comes early in the morning and goes away after doing all the work. Next morning Dhoban saw a girl quietly doing all the household work. This continued for several days. One day the washerman asked the girl the reason for this.
The son told the washerman everything that the sage had said. Hearing this, the washerman gave her the vermillion she had asked for and at the same time the washerman’s husband died. Saddened by this, the girl left the house and went to a Peepal tree and took 108 pieces of bricks, revolved around them 108 times and started throwing them one by one. This act of the girl saved the life of the washerman’s husband. The girl circumambulated the Peepal tree and got auspicious results.
