Ranveer Singh: Bollywood star Ranveer Singh, who played the role of Alauddin Khilji in the film 'Padmaavat', impressed the critics and the public. His role in the film was that of a villain, but his character was discussed more than the lead roles of Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor. However, now actor Prashant Narayan has called Ranveer's performance a 'lie' and also made fun of actors who claim such 'dark performances'.
Prashant gained popularity with the very dark character of the villain in 'Murder 2'. Prashant, who has worked in some memorable films, has also played strong roles in web series like 'Rangbaaz', 'Abhay' and 'Maai'. He has been seen in many negative and disturbing dark roles. He said that the talk of actors going into 'dark zone' while playing such characters is completely false.
Ranveer's 'dark performance' in 'Padmaavat' is a lie
While talking about acting in an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Prashant told that Ranveer Singh had talked about going to a 'dark place' while playing his character in 'Padmaavat'.
Ranveer Singh said that he has isolated himself for 21 days for the role of Khilji. And this character had such an impact on him that during the preparation he felt as if he was falling into a pit from which it was difficult to get out.
Responding to this, Prashant said, 'He is lying. He is not such a temperamental actor. Or it's not a mind-blowing role where you have to do so much. No brother, no, you come to your set, get ready well, just work from your heart.
Prashant said that actors do all this because they have to justify their fees worth crores. He said that it is nonsense to go into this dark place and do all this. To justify the crores of rupees found somewhere.
Prashant made fun of 'serious' actors!
Further in the conversation, Prashant said, 'I laugh at those actors who take themselves too seriously. Actors who say, 'I was very serious for the last two months. Taking a jibe at such actors, Prashant said, 'Why were they serious? Was he in the hospital? Till date, I have not said about any role and what kind of roles I have done.
