control bp with water

  • According to a research published in the Journal of the American Heart Association, drinking water rich in calcium and magnesium can help lower blood pressure.
  • The research compared people who drank salty water and people who drank brackish water.
  • Since sodium rapidly raises blood pressure levels, the participants who drank salt water during the study had lower blood pressure. This change was not due to sodium, but due to the presence of minerals such as calcium and magnesium in the water.
  • Those who drank lightly salted water had an average systolic BP level that was 1.55 mmHg lower than those who drank fresh water. The average diastolic BP was 1.26 mmHg lower.
  • Some research has found that both calcium and magnesium may help lower BP to a healthy level.
