India issued statement: India on Saturday said it views the alleged attack on a Durga Puja pandal and theft at the iconic Kali temple in Bangladesh as a matter of grave concern. Along with this, India has requested Bangladesh to ensure the safety of all other minorities including Hindus and their places of worship.

In a statement, the Ministry of External Affairs described the incidents as “reprehensible” and said, “There is a systematic pattern of desecration of temples and deities going on in Bangladesh”. The Ministry of External Affairs said that we view with grave concern the attack on a puja mandal in Dhaka's Tantibazar and the theft at the iconic Jeshoreshwari Kali temple in Satkhira.

Earlier, Bangladeshi newspaper Pratham Aalo had reported the incident of alleged crude bomb being thrown at the Durga Puja pandal in Tantibazar area of Old Dhaka. The bomb caught fire but no one was injured. The incident happened on Friday night.
