Haiti PM Resigns: Haiti's Prime Minister Ariel Henry has resigned from his post after violence and looting in the Caribbean country. The Prime Minister has resigned after the emergency meeting of regional countries. It is noteworthy that in the last few days, the situation is continuously worsening due to civil war in the country.

Henry will remain acting Prime Minister until a new government is formed

Prime Minister Ariel Henry released a video on Monday in which he said Haiti needs stability. My Government will appoint a Council, which will announce the Prime Minister and the new Cabinet. Till then we will work as a caretaker government. According to Jean Junior Joseph, an advisor to the Haitian Prime Minister, Henry will serve as Prime Minister until a new interim government is formed.

I want to make sure there will be rule of law in Haiti: SERICOM president

“I want to ensure that there is rule of law in Haiti,” said Irfan Ali, president of CERICOM. Indo-Haitians are Haitians of Indian origin who immigrated to Haiti or were born in Haiti. According to 2011 data, there are approximately 400 Indo-Haitians in the country. As of February 2016, approximately 70–80 Indian citizens and persons of Indian origin reside in Haiti, the majority of whom are Indian nationals.
