The cases of HMPV i.e. Human Metapneumovirus are continuously increasing in the country. Two new cases of this virus infection were also reported in Nagpur. So far 7 people in the country have become victims of this virus. The central government says that the increase in cases will not create a Covid-like situation.

Devendra Fadnavis appealed to the people

Earlier, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had also appealed to the people not to panic about the HMPV virus. Talking to the media, he said that this virus is not new, it has appeared before also and now once again its effect is visible. Rules in this regard will be announced soon. The Union Health Ministry has decided to release the information to the states and has appealed to the media to broadcast only official information.

Rajasthan government has appealed to the people to be cautious

Giving information about Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV), the Tamil Nadu government said that two cases of it have been reported in the state. The state government said that this virus is not new and is an already prevalent virus, which was identified in 2001. The HMPV virus remains stable and is not a cause for concern.

Two each in Bengaluru, Nagpur and Tamil Nadu and one in Ahmedabad.

The information released by the state’s Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, said that HMPV infections are usually self-limited, which means they resolve on their own. This requires adequate rest and hydration. Supportive treatment is given in its treatment.
