Lakhs of railway passengers who had booked Tatkal tickets to go home in the New Year were disappointed on Tuesday. For example, the services of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) were stopped. This is the third time in a month that the IRCTC website went down, due to which passengers faced problems in booking Tatkal tickets. Users faced many difficulties at the stages ranging from train selection to payment.
The downtime message visible on the platform states that booking and cancellation services are not available for the next one hour for all sites. You can call customer care on 139 for filing cancellation or TRD. Users kept seeing this message and could not avail the services. Additionally, some users were shown a maintenance message stating that the site was under construction, so services were down for a period of time. However, there has been no response from IRCTC regarding the website being down.
