Kolkata, 09 November (HS). A heart-wrenching incident has come to light in Kalna in East Burdwan district of West Bengal, where the body of a Class XII student was found on the railway tracks on Friday night. The student's mother says that shortly before her death, her daughter had said on the phone, “They will not let me live.” After this statement, the mysterious death of the student has raised many questions.

According to the information received, the house of the deceased student was in Dhatrigram of Kalna and she was a science student in Krishnadevpur High School. Like every day, on Friday too she had come with her mother to a teacher in Kalna for English tuition. However, she left tuition a little earlier on Friday than the usual day. Shortly thereafter he called his mother and said, “They will not let me live,” and then the call was disconnected. Since then the family members have not been able to contact him.

The family immediately lodged a missing complaint of the student at Kalna police station. Meanwhile, at around 7 pm, the Railway Police (GRP) informed about the discovery of a blood-soaked body of a teenage girl at some distance from Kalna station. Police and the student's family reached the spot and the body was identified.

This incident has raised many questions. Why did the student go towards Kalna station after the tuition was over? And what was the point of suddenly calling mother and saying “They will not let me live”? To whom was the student pointing with 'they'? Police are investigating the matter and have learned that the student was seen on the platform of Kalna station in CCTV footage at the time of the incident. After climbing the overbridge, he came down again and spent some time on the platform.

According to police sources, the student reached Kalna station at 6:38 pm on Friday and called her mother at 6:52 pm. The family alleges that it is not suicide but murder.

On Saturday, the student's uncle says, “She had left tuition at 6 in the evening and after that she called her mother and expressed concern about her safety. It cannot be suicide, he has been killed.”

The police are investigating the matter deeply and trying to find out the reasons behind this step of the student. A senior police officer on Saturday said the incident was being investigated and efforts were being made to find out who the student was ultimately talking about.
