Delhi Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Voting will be held on all seven parliamentary seats of Delhi on Saturday in the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections. Security has been tightened and preparations have been made at polling booths across the capital to ensure smooth voting process. Sale of liquor has been banned in Delhi 48 hours before polling. No liquor shop will be open in the national capital for two days, including the day of polling. Apart from this, Delhi Metro and DTC bus services will start earlier than usual on Saturday to help voters on polling day. Lok Sabha elections in Delhi: What will remain closed on May 25?

According to the orders issued by the Election Commission of India, all liquor shops and other licensed premises in Delhi will remain closed from 6 pm on May 23 to 6 pm on May 25 for the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections. The same situation is in Faridabad and Gurugram cities near Delhi. Liquor will not be sold in the capital Delhi on June 4.

Banks and schools will remain closed

Schools and educational institutions in the national capital will also remain closed on the day of polling as the city is experiencing intense heat. Apart from this, banks will remain closed on the fourth Saturday of the month i.e. 25 May.

Lok Sabha elections in Delhi: What will unfold?

Essential services such as hospitals, medicine shops and public transport will operate normally on May 25. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has announced that metro train services on all routes will resume from 4 am on Saturday to assist voters on polling day. The Delhi Transport Corporation has announced that it will run additional bus services on 35 routes across Delhi from 4 am on May 25. Commercial establishments such as shops, restaurants and malls will remain open on polling day in Delhi. The seventh and final phase of the Lok Sabha elections will be held on June 1 and the results will be declared on June 4.
