7th Pay Commission: Central employees are waiting for Dearness Allowance (DA). Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has given a big gift to the employees of his state regarding DA. He announced the release of 4% pending dearness allowance (DA) for 1.80 lakh government employees and 1.70 lakh pensioners from January 1, 2023. This announcement by the state government will put a burden of Rs 600 crore per year on the exchequer.
Salary will be paid on 28th October
Moreover, in view of the festival of Diwali, the Chief Minister also announced that employees and pensioners will receive their salary and pension on October 28 instead of November 1 and 9 respectively. Along with this, Sukhu also announced to clear all pending medical bills of employees and retirees, for which a provision of Rs 10 crore has already been made.
The CM also announced payment of the entire amount of dues to all pensioners above 75 years of age. Sukhu said a total of Rs 202 crore would be spent on salary and pension arrears this financial year. The Chief Minister also announced the release of an additional installment of Rs 20,000 towards the currently pending dues for Class IV government employees.
Central employees waiting for allowance
Central employees are waiting for the increase in dearness allowance for the July to December quarter. At present the allowance of employees is 50 percent. It is estimated that the allowance may increase by 4 percent. If there is an increase of 4 percent then it will become 54 percent. If we look at the pattern till now, the Central Government announces allowances till Vijayadashami. However, this time the announcement has not been made yet. Let us tell you that as per the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission, dearness allowance is given twice a year.
