Traffic Police Rules: Traffic month is going on these days. The transport department and traffic police organize programs to make people aware of traffic rules. But most of the people are not aware that tractor-trolley is used for agricultural work. There are many strict rules to run it. Which is very important to follow. In case of violation of these rules, along with fine, action can also be taken to confiscate the tractor trolley.
Sub Divisional Transport Officer Shanti Bhushan Pandey said that most of the tractors are registered for agricultural work only. Which can be used only for agricultural work, but if the tractor-trolley is used commercially. So there is a provision for action against the tractor owner. Under which the farmer may have to pay a fine of up to Rs 1 lakh.
- If tractor-trolley is used commercially, fine is imposed by taking action regarding overloading, fitness and permit. There is a provision to collect fine from farmers for overloading goods during agricultural work.
- If the tractor-trolley is used to carry passengers other than agricultural work, a fine of Rs 2200 per passenger can be charged from the tractor owner. Passengers cannot be carried in any unauthorized vehicle.
- No changes of any kind can be made in the basic structure of the tractor. If changes are made to the basic structure of the tractor, there is a provision to charge a fine of up to Rs 1 lakh from the tractor owner.
- Driving license is required to drive any vehicle. Similarly, driving license is also required to drive a tractor. Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) driving license holders can drive tractors. Vehicles weighing up to 7500 kg can be driven with a Light Motor Vehicle Driving License.
- It is necessary to register the trolley along with the tractor. If the trolley is being operated against the rules, then a provision has been made to confiscate the trolley as well as impose a fine on the farmers.
