Heavy rain warning: The south-west monsoon has departed from the country. Now northeast monsoon rains have started. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), a warning of heavy rain has been issued in the southern parts of India. According to the press release issued by the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain in the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, South Interior Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. This rain may continue for the next two days.
According to IMD, the South-West Monsoon has departed from the entire country from today and along with it the North-East Monsoon has also started becoming active. Due to the low pressure area formed in the southern part of the Bay of Bengal, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in other areas including Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Rayalaseema. The Meteorological Department has said that this low pressure area will deepen further in the next 24 hours, which may create flood-like conditions in some areas of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.

During the last 24 hours, heavy rainfall has been recorded in coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh, eastern areas of Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Particularly in Nellore and Bapatla districts of Andhra Pradesh, there was rainfall of up to 15 cm, while Pudukottai and Chennai of Tamil Nadu also received heavy rainfall.
Heavy rain for next two days
Heavy rains will continue over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala and Karnataka between October 15 and 17. There is a possibility of heavy rain in Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra Pradesh till October 16. Apart from this, there is a possibility of strong winds and bad weather in the southern parts of the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea. Wind speed can reach 35 to 55 kilometers per hour.
