Now TRAI is going to take a big step in this direction. TRAI is going to implement a new rule across the country from September 1, in which filtering will be implemented for fake calls and messages.
After applying filters on messages and calls, there may be a delay in the OTP received during online payment and online shopping. TRAI gave guidelines
TRAI's guideline states that from September 1, 2024, block messages containing URLs, OTT links, APKs (Android applications) or call-back numbers that are not registered with telecom companies. This means that financial institutions, banks and all online platforms will have to register their messages, OTP templates and content with Jio, Airtel and Vi before August 31. If the platform does not do so, the message will be blocked.
Millions of users will be affected
Let us tell you that this new rule of TRA can have a direct impact on crores of mobile users. Not getting OTP during online payment can cause problems. In today's time, almost all online related work is done through OTT and delay in OTP can cause big problems.
