Kolkata, August 20 (HS). There is no relief from rain in the entire state including the metropolitan Kolkata this whole week. Information about this has been given in a statement issued by the Meteorological Department on Tuesday. It has been told that the weather in Kolkata will generally remain cloudy, and there is a possibility of rain or thundershowers once or twice. The maximum temperature is likely to be around 31 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is likely to be around 26 degrees Celsius.
The maximum temperature of Kolkata was recorded at 29.6 degrees Celsius, which was 2.4 degrees below normal. The minimum temperature was recorded at 27 degrees Celsius, which is 0.6 degrees above normal. The humidity level in Kolkata was also high, the maximum humidity was 96 percent and the minimum humidity was 85 percent. In the last 24 hours, 2.4 mm of rain was recorded in Kolkata.
The weather in other districts of West Bengal will be similar to that of Kolkata. Districts like Howrah, Hooghly, South 24 Parganas, North 24 Parganas, Nadia and Burdwan will also have cloudy skies and light to moderate rain is expected.
The maximum temperature in the districts of South Bengal is expected to be between 30 to 32 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature may remain between 25 to 27 degrees Celsius. The humidity level will also remain high in these districts, due to which people may have to face humidity. Light to moderate rain is expected in the next 24 hours, which is expected to bring some relief in the weather.
Continuous rain will continue in Alipurdurwar, Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling and Kalimpong of North Bengal.
Overall, most parts of West Bengal will see a change in weather during the next 24 hours, where it will remain cloudy and there may be intermittent rain. People have been advised to be cautious while going out of the house and make proper arrangements to avoid rain.
