Dehradun, 13 May (HS). For smooth and safe Chardham Yatra, one Yatra Magistrate each will be posted in Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Uttarkashi. In view of the safety and convenience of the passengers, there will be no offline registration on Wednesday and Thursday. Following the instructions of the Chief Minister, these important decisions were taken in the meeting of high officials on Monday.

On Monday, a meeting of top officials was organized for smooth and safe conduct of Chardham Yatra. Commissioner Garhwal Vinay Shankar Pandey said that as per the instructions of the Chief Minister, today in a meeting in the presence of Principal Secretary to Chief Minister RK Sudhanshu, Secretary to Chief Minister Vinay Shankar Pandey, DGP Abhinav Kumar and others, it was decided that Char Dham Yatra will be conducted in Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Uttarkashi districts. In view of this, one magistrate each will be posted here. Orders for their deployment have also been issued from the level of Garhwal Commissioner. The District Magistrate will allocate work to them as per his discretion.

Secretary Tourism said that in view of the safety of the pilgrims visiting Chardham, it has also been decided that registrations for the yatra will not be done on Wednesday and Thursday. Director General of Police told in the meeting that 100 additional home guards will be given in each district and one additional police officer will also be deployed in Uttarkashi.

Chief Development Officer Haridwar Prateek Jain has been posted as Traveling Magistrate in Badrinath Dham District Chamoli, Chief Development Officer Tehri Garhwal Abhishek Tripathi in Uttarkashi and Haridwar Roorkee Development Authority Haridwar Anshul Singh as Traveling Magistrate in Kedarnath Dham Rudraprayag.
