There will be heavy rain in these districts, Meteorological Department has issued an alert, know the weather condition

Punjab Weather Update: The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert in Hoshiarpur, Gurdaspur and Pathankot till 9 am. There is a possibility of heavy rains along with winds blowing at a speed of 40 km here. While there may be rain in the surrounding areas as well. Despite continuous alerts, the monsoon has been weak this season. The state has recorded 43 percent less rainfall since June.

(IMD) has issued an orange alert regarding rain on Tuesday. But this alert is only for two districts Pathankot and Hoshiarpur. Whereas a yellow alert has been issued for Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Rupnagar, Mohali, Bathinda and Mansa. No alert was issued in all the other districts on Tuesday.

Similar weather is expected in Punjab on Wednesday as well. But this alert will be limited to these districts only, while the rest of Punjab will receive only pocket rain. Last year, while people in Punjab were troubled by floods, this year the sluggish monsoon has increased concerns. Punjab has recorded 43 percent less rainfall since June 1.

Only four districts of Punjab, Pathankot, Tarn Taran, Sangrur and Mansa have received normal rainfall. 6 districts Fatehgarh Sahib received 80% less rainfall, Bathinda 71%, Ferozepur 64%, SBS Nagar 61%, Rupnagar 61% and SAS Nagar 71% less rainfall. While other districts have recorded 30 to 59 percent less rainfall.

Temperature of major cities of Punjab

Amritsar- Yesterday evening the maximum temperature was recorded at 36.6 degrees. There will be light clouds, there is a possibility of rain. The temperature can remain between 26 to 36 degrees.

Jalandhar- The maximum temperature on Monday evening was recorded at 35.8 degrees. There will be light clouds, there is a possibility of rain. The temperature can remain between 25 to 36 degrees.

Ludhiana- On Monday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 35 degrees. Light clouds, rain expected. The temperature will remain between 28 to 33 degrees.

Patiala- The temperature on Monday evening was 32.9 degrees. Today it will be partly cloudy and there is a possibility of rain. The temperature will be between 28 to 32 degrees.

Mohali- On Monday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 32.8 degrees. Today it will be cloudy, there is a possibility of rain. The temperature can remain between 29 to 35 degrees.
