IMD Rainfall Update: Monsoon rains are in full swing in most parts of the country, but the capital Delhi is still untouched by torrential rains. The month of July is about to pass but Delhi is still yearning for good rains. At the same time, rain has completely disrupted life in many states. According to weather forecasting agency Skymet, today (July 20), moderate to heavy rains may occur in Konkan and Goa, North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, North Telangana and South Chhattisgarh. Southern Odisha, Vidarbha, Marathwada, South Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Coastal Karnataka, North Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar Islands may receive light to moderate rains with heavy rains at some places.
At the same time, light to moderate rain may occur over Sikkim, Northeast India, interior Karnataka, Lakshadweep, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Terai areas of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and some parts of Rajasthan and light rain is possible over Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Punjab and Haryana.
Climate of Delhi
Delhiites faced a humid Friday as the city recorded 4.3 mm rainfall in the last 24 hours and the maximum temperature settled at 35.6 degrees Celsius, which is normal for this season. The weather department has forecast generally cloudy skies and light rain on Saturday with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to hover around 36 and 28 degrees Celsius respectively.
At the same time, according to the weather department forecast, Delhi may witness good rain for 3 days from 21 to 23 July. During this period, a slight drop in the maximum temperature can also be seen.
