Punjab weather update: There will be dense fog in seven districts of Punjab today i.e. on Friday and Saturday. A yellow alert has been issued by the Meteorological Department in this regard. These districts include Amritsar, Nawanshahr, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib and Patiala. At the same time, despite strictness, they are not stopping in the matter of burning stubble. The air is getting polluted due to this. The air quality index (AQI) is poor in five cities of Punjab and Chandigarh.

However, there has been some improvement. The maximum temperature of Punjab has dropped by 0.4 degrees in 24 hours. It has come close to normal. The highest temperature recorded in Bathinda was 28.6 degrees Celsius. The night temperature has also dropped by 0.2. This has also reached the general public.

Mandi Gobindgarh’s air is the most polluted

Sector-53 near Moha Leeda in Chandigarh had the worst AQI at 6 am on Friday. AQI 248 has been recorded here. Whereas AQI was 161 in Sector-25 and 196 in Sector-22. At the same time, AQI of Mandi Gobindgarh in Punjab has become 273. AQI 261 was recorded in Ludhiana, AQI 235 in Jalandhar, AQI 231 in Amritsar, AQI 213 in Patiala. Whereas the lowest AQI was recorded at 131 in Rupnagar bordering Himachal and 159 in Bathinda.

Fazilka tops in stubble burning
192 new cases of stubble burning have been reported in Punjab in 24 hours. Meanwhile, maximum 42 cases have been reported in Fazilka, 38 in Firozpur, 22 in Muktsar, 13 in Tarn Taran, 13 in Faridkot and 10 in Moga. Whereas in other districts it is less than this. Since September 15, 10296 cases of stubble burning have been reported. There were 49526 cases of stubble burning in 2022 and 35606 cases in 2023.

Temperature of big cities of Punjab including Chandigarh

Chandigarh- The maximum temperature recorded on Thursday was 26.9 degrees. There will be fog today. The temperature will be between 10 to 28 degrees.

Amritsar- The maximum temperature recorded on Thursday was 25.8 degrees. There will be dense fog today. The temperature will be between 11 to 27 degrees.

Jalandhar- The temperature was recorded at 24.6 degrees on Thursday evening. There will be dense fog today. The temperature will be between 10 to 38 degrees.

Patiala- The maximum temperature recorded on Thursday was 27.8 degrees. There will be dense fog today. The temperature will be recorded between 11 to 28 degrees.

Mohali- Yesterday the maximum temperature was recorded at 26.4 degrees. There will be light fog today. The temperature can range between 10 degrees to 28 degrees.
