Jhansi, 28 June (HS). BIDA is going to prove to be a boon for Bundelkhand. Along with providing employment to the youth, migration of people from Bundelkhand will also stop. BIDA (Bundelkhand Industrial Development Authority) is being developed as the largest industrial metropolis of the country.
Under this project, land of 33 villages of Jhansi is being purchased from farmers at four times higher circle rate. 23 foreign companies have decided to invest more than 1 lakh 5 thousand crore rupees in Jhansi district of Uttar Pradesh. Industries to be set up by these companies are likely to provide employment to thousands of people.
A Singapore company has been given the responsibility to give shape to the Bundelkhand Industrial Development Authority. After the entire land is allotted in bigha terms, the Singapore company will prepare a master plan in which it will be decided where and in what area housing, industry, parking, sewage system, powerhouse, police post, garden etc. are to be built. Only after this the work of land allocation will be started. But even before this, various companies have started expressing their desire to invest in BIDA.
Proposals from 338 investors
According to the Industry Department, 338 investors have proposed to set up industries in Jhansi, out of which 322 investors have signed MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) for an investment of Rs 2,21,160 crore. These include 23 foreign companies. Not only this, representatives of these companies have come here in the past days and explored the possibilities of setting up industries and have been satisfied with the availability of traffic, supply of raw materials, transport facilities and skilled workers. These companies have shown interest in investing in BIDA itself.
