Prayagraj, 24 September (HS). On the incident of stone pelting on Mahabodhi Express train going from New Delhi to Gaya in Prayagraj, North Central Railway's Chief Public Relations Officer Shashikant Tripathi has said that when the said train was reaching Mirzapur station, the guard reported a stone hitting it. RPF reached the spot and investigation revealed that no damage was caused and a case has been registered against unknown persons.
Meanwhile, PRO Amit Kumar Singh said that many media are running the news that 'stone pelting on Mahabodhi Express, many passengers injured.' In this regard, it is to be informed that no such incident has taken place. It is to be clarified that on 23rd September, in train no. 12397 Mahabodhi Express, maintenance staff constable Ravikesh Yadav reported that when the said train was entering Mirzapur station, in the evening, a person threw a stone on the guard brake from the south side and no one was injured. Guard Mustaq Ahmed of Mahabodhi Express informed through control that at kilometer number 736/3 Mirzapur, at around 19:21, an unknown person threw a stone from the south side, which hit the guard brake. No one was injured.
On information, Assistant Sub Inspector Ashok Kumar, Head Constable Girdhar Kushwaha along with Mirzapur goods warehouse, East Yard and West Yard were searched. No person was seen. Considering the seriousness of the matter, a case was registered as Crime No. 511/24 Section 153, 147 Railway Act Government vs Unknown Time 21:40 Entry No. 55. The case is being investigated by Assistant Sub Inspector Ashok Kumar.
