Women Investors in India: As women are becoming empowered, they are now entering the financial markets as well. Women’s participation in financial markets has been increasing rapidly in the last few years. However, the status of women investors in Gujarat has remained unchanged over the last four years. No increase was observed.
According to SBI Ecowrap report, the number of women investors is increasing from FY 2022. In the last 3 years, the number of women investors has increased by 1.3 percent to 23.9 percent. Which was 22.6 percent in the financial year 2021-22. Which shows that women have become aware about financial independence as well as investment.
Number of women investors increased in small states
In comparison to big states, the number of women in small states with maximum investment in the financial market including stock market and IPO is continuously increasing. In the financial year 2024-25, the share of women investors in Goa has increased by 2.2 percent to 32 percent. While Chandigarh is at second place with 31.6 percent share. However, the number of investors in these cities is much less compared to the big states Maharashtra, Gujarat.
