Ayodhya, August 28 (HS). Shri Krishna Janmotsav was celebrated with great joy late on Tuesday night at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. On this occasion, apart from Makhan Mishri, many types of sweets including Ghevar, Laddoo and one and a half quintals of Panjiri were offered and Prasad was distributed.
On the occasion of the birth anniversary, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust decorated the sanctum sanctorum of Shri Ram Lala in an elegant manner and child Shri Ram was dressed in yellow Khadi clothes specially prepared by the labourers of Bastar in Chhattisgarh state. Local artists presented melodious bhajans and congratulatory songs.
For the first time, Janmashtami was celebrated with full grandeur according to the Vaishnav tradition in the court of Ramlala seated in the divine and grand temple being built at the birthplace of Maryada Purushottam Lord Shri Ram. The entire arrangement of the event was done by the trust under the supervision of temple in-charge Gopal Rao.
Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest of Ramjanmabhoomi, said that Krishna Janmotsav was celebrated in Ayodhya on Tuesday according to the Vaishnav tradition. He said that Lord Shri Ram and Lord Shri Krishna are incarnate men. Shri Ram and Shri Krishna have an eternal relationship with each other. Just as Lord Shri Krishna's birth anniversary was celebrated with pomp in Mathura, in the same way Lord Shri Krishna's birth anniversary was celebrated with pomp in the monastery and temple of Ayodhya as well as the temple of Lord Shri Ram.
