Faridkot: A case of fire has come to light in the Medicine 2 ward of the local Guru Gobind Singh Medical College and Hospital (GGSMCH) on Friday afternoon. Although the cause of the fire is believed to be short circuit, the actual cause has not been known yet.
Let us tell you that on Friday afternoon, a sudden fire broke out in the Medicine 2 ward of GGSMCH and smoke spread all around. Due to which panic spread among the patients and their condition started deteriorating while smoke spread outside the ward and in the hospital. As soon as information about the incident was received, the hospital management came into action and immediately all the patients were taken out safely from the ward. On the other hand, the fire brigade was informed. As soon as the information was received, the fire brigade team reached the spot and controlled the fire.
It is noteworthy that every day a large number of patients from different districts come to GGSMCH to take medicines and a large number of patients and their families are present there. In such a situation, there is a possibility of creating chaos due to fire. However, due to the vigilance of the management, there was no harm to the patients.
In this regard, Medical Superintendent of GGSMCH, Dr. Neetu Kukkad said that the fire probably occurred due to short circuit. At present their priority is the patients and they are being protected. The cause of the fire will be investigated later.
