Pankaj Kumar, one of the escaped prisoners, was sentenced to life imprisonment in the murder case. Whereas the case of the other prisoner Ramkumar was still going on and his hearing was to be heard in the court. Both the prisoners took the help of stairs to get out of the jail.

Some work was going on inside the jail, due to which a ladder was installed there. Both of them went out of sight and down the stairs. Due to the negligence of the policemen present there, two criminals escaped from the spot by dodging the police. Prisoner Pankaj is a resident of Roorkee and Ramkumar is a resident of Gonda, Uttar Pradesh. At present the jail administration is trying to locate both the prisoners as soon as possible.

What did the District Magistrate say?

Haridwar District Magistrate Karmendra Singh said that two prisoners were lodged in the district jail in the case of kidnapping and murder, who took advantage of the opportunity and escaped. The District Magistrate said that negligence of the jail administration is being seen in this matter. A case has been registered in this matter and a magistrate inquiry will also be conducted into this matter.
