There was a lot of Hindu New Year festival in Mandi, the city was crowded, religious association organized

Mandi, April 9 (Hindustan Reporter) Hindu New Year Vikrami Samvat Chaitra Shukla Pratipada Mahotsav was celebrated on Tuesday at the historic Seri stage of Mandi. It was organized by Dharma Sangh in which representatives of more than two dozen religious, social and other organizations of Mandi participated. For the first time, Hindu Nerva Varsh started with such a big celebration in Mandi. The entire Seri stage and courtyard was decorated with rangoli and flowers, creating a wonderful atmosphere.

A large number of dignitaries including Mandi Sadar MLA Anil Sharma, Mandi Municipal Corporation Mayor Virendra Sharma, Pro Vice Chancellor of Sardar Patel University Dr. Anupama Singh participated in it. Under the leadership of Dharmasangh President Bhim Chand Saroch, the officials and members worked day and night to make it a memorable event. It started with Ganesh Puja and Sthapana at 10 in the morning while Havan Yagya started after that. The people of the city gathered at the completion of Havan Yagya. Meanwhile, to mark the beginning of Navratri, the girls lit lamps and recited Swasti. After Saraswati Vandana, names of the new year and horoscope were read and folk songs were presented.

On the occasion of New Year, ancient folk songs, Baharmasa, flute playing, Shehnai playing, bhajans and cultural programs added charm to the event. The dignitaries and artists who made the program very effective by giving various presentations were also honored with mementos. Dharmasangh workers also distributed Prasad.

It is noteworthy that this time the Hindu New Year started from Vikrami Samvat 2081 i.e. 9th April. It is believed that on this date Lord Brahma created the universe. What is special this year is that the new year is starting with two auspicious yogas, Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga and Amrit Siddhi Yoga and Revati and Ashwini constellations will also be present on this day. Both of these will start from 7:32 am on Tuesday morning and will last till 5:06 am on April 10.
