Gold prices on Monday rose by Rs 250 to a new all-time high of Rs 78,700 per 10 grams, supported by sustained buying by jewelers and strong condition in overseas markets. In the last closing price on Friday, this precious metal closed at Rs 78,450 per 10 grams.
However, according to All India Bullion Association, silver fell by Rs 200 to Rs 94,000 per kg from Rs 94,200 per kg on Friday. Meanwhile, gold of 99.5 percent purity increased by Rs 200 to Rs 78,300 per 10 grams. In the previous session, the yellow metal had closed at Rs 78,100 per 10 grams.
