New Delhi : Changes in Agniveer Yojana: In the Lok Sabha elections 2024, BJP has suffered huge losses in Haryana, Western UP and Shekhawati of Rajasthan. The biggest reason for this is considered to be the Agniveer or Agneepath scheme. Now the central government is reviewing the Agniveer scheme. If PM Modi returns from Italy, then a presentation of the changes made in Agniveer will be given to him on June 17-18.

This change might happen
1. The tenure of Agniveer can be extended up to four years.
2. More youth can be recruited.
3. The limit of 25 percent retention can be increased.
4. Financial assistance given in case of martyrdom or injury.
5. The gap between leaves of soldiers and firemen can be bridged.

JDU demanded change
BJP ally JDU's national general secretary KC Tyagi demanded changes in the Agniveer scheme. He said that there was a lot of opposition to the Agniveer scheme. Its effect was seen in the Lok Sabha elections. He said that there is a need to think about it. He further said that there is no talk of ending this scheme, rather the opposition forces have made it an issue in the elections.

Rajnath Singh had said this
The country's Defense Minister Rajnath Singh had talked about changes in the Agniveer scheme in an interview during the Lok Sabha elections. He said that it is the government's responsibility to secure the future of firefighters. If the need arises again, we are ready to change it.
