The temple we are talking about is the Lotus Temple of Delhi. It is famous not only in India but all over the world. Its specialty is that it is not associated with any one religion, but is open to people of all religions.
There is no idol of God-
The biggest specialty of this temple is that there is no idol or any kind of ritual here. Instead, holy scriptures of various religions are recited here, making it an equal place for people of all religions.
Architecture of Lotus Temple-
The most striking thing about the Lotus Temple is its stunning architecture. It is made of white marble and looks like a lotus flower. The temple has 27 petals, divided into three groups.
2500 people can sit together –
The central dome of the temple is 40 meters high and has nine doors. Inside the temple there is a huge prayer hall that can accommodate 2500 people at a time.
Who had built it-
Located in Nehru Place, Delhi, this temple was opened to the public in 1986. It was built by the famous Iranian architect Faribarz Sahba. The temple has received many national and international awards.
