Bhopal, July 13 (HS). Monsoon activities are continuing in Madhya Pradesh. Although the trough line has moved away from the state, rain continues in many districts due to the active cyclonic circulation system in North Gujarat. On Friday, 12 districts including Bhopal-Indore got wet, while today on Saturday there is an alert of heavy rain in 8 districts.
Dr. Divya E. Surendran, Senior Scientist of Meteorological Department Bhopal, said that there will be thunderstorms in the entire state. There are high chances of lightning. The monsoon trough line has moved quite high. There is a cyclonic circulation in North Gujarat. This system is causing rain. It rained in the western part on Friday. It may rain in some districts on Saturday. At the same time, there will also be sunshine and shade.
Earlier, heavy rains continued in many districts on Friday as well. 1.4 inches of water fell in Sidhi. Bhopal, Guna and Naugaon received about 1 inch of rain. Rains also occurred in Betul, Dhar, Indore, Khandwa, Ratlam, Khajuraho, Rewa, Tikamgarh and Malajkhand of Balaghat. During the night, the weather changed in Tikamgarh, Orchha of Niwari, Khajuraho of Chhatarpur, Panna, Damoh, Harda, Chitrakoot of Satna, Ashoknagar, Bhopal, Sagar, Khandwa, Khargone, Betul, Guna, Rajgarh, Dewas, Seoni, Balaghat, Umaria, Shahdol, Katni, Shivpuri, Ratangarh of Datia, Udayagiri of Vidisha, Bhimbetka and Sanchi of Raisen, Sehore, Ratlam, Shajapur, Agar-Malwa, Ujjain, Barwani, Indore, Burhanpur, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Jabalpur, Pachmarhi of Narmadapuram, Narsinghpur, Mandla, Dindori, Amarkantak of Anuppur, Rewa, Sidhi, Singrauli and Sheopur.
Amidst the rain, many cities were also affected by the heat. The temperature in Gwalior, Narsinghpur, Tikamgarh and Khajuraho was above 35 degrees. Talking about the big cities, Bhopal recorded 32.8 degrees, Indore 30.7 degrees, Jabalpur 33.6 degrees and Ujjain recorded 32.8 degrees Celsius. The lowest temperature was 28 degrees in Pachmarhi of Narmadapuram.
