Mumbai: Citing the chargesheet filed in the case, police said that the accused involved in the conspiracy to kill actor Salman Khan had planned to attack him during the shooting of the film. Jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi paid Rs. 25 lakh to his gang members. Investigation has revealed that a contract killing of Rs. 25 lakh was done. It was planned to use sophisticated weapons like AK-47 imported from Pakistan.
On June 21, the Panvel city police of Navi Mumbai filed a 350-page chargesheet against the five accused before a magistrate court. The accused include Dhananjay Tapsingh alias Ajay Kashyap (28), Gautam Bhatia (29), Waspi Mahmud Khan alias China (36), Rizwan Hussain alias Javed Khan (25) and Deepak Hawasih alias John (30). Lawrence Bishnoi, his brother Anmol Bishnoi, Sampat Nehra and Goldy Brar have been identified as the absconding accused. The attack was planned when Khan was out of the Panvel farmhouse or during a film shoot.
The chargesheet mentions a detailed plan, attack and escape route. The intelligence recovered includes mobile phone records of the accused, WhatsApp texts, audio and video calls and tower locations. In April, the Bishnoi gang's plot to kill Khan was busted.
The conspiracy was revealed by the disclosure of the conversation on video call between Lawrence Bishnoi gang member Ajay Kashyap and other accused. In the conversation, shooters equipped with ultra-modern weapons were deployed in Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Raigad and Gujarat as per the orders of Goldie Brar. Citing the FIR, the officer said that Anmol Bishnoi and Rohit Godara were asked by Brar to hire minors below 18 years of age to carry out the attack. According to the FIR, a person named John was tasked with providing the vehicle for this work.
After the attack, the gang members were to assemble in Kanyakumari and travel to Sri Lanka via sea. From there they arranged to send him to other countries, with Anmol Bishnoi arranging his travel from Canada. According to the police, the Lawrence Bishnoi and Sampat Nehra gang had detained 60 to 70 members at the film shooting location, Panvel Farm House, Bandra residence to keep an eye on Khan's movements.
On 24 April, the Panvel Town police station registered a case against 17 identified accused and others for the murder of Khan following a specific information.
The police found a video call between Ajay Kashyap and a Pakistani man named Dogar. According to the FIR, Kashyap made the call in the presence of a member of the Manela gang in the presence of the police.
After depositing 50 percent of the amount in Goldie Brar's account, Kashyap talked about getting weapons including AK47 from Pakistan. It was decided to pay the remaining amount after getting the weapons. In the video call, Dogar showed Kashyap four to five weapons, including an AK 47 and others.
