As soon as it was made compulsory for shopkeepers in Uttar Pradesh to write the name of the owner, the secular groups got furious. All kinds of baseless nonsense started being said. Some are saying that this is an attempt by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to create differences between Hindus and Muslims, while others are saying that Yogi is spreading Hinduism like Hitler's Nazism. It seems that for the first time someone is asking Muslims in the country to reveal their identity. From ration card to Aadhaar card, from school to job, everywhere it is compulsory for the citizens of the country to write their name and religion. This is a legal obligation as well as a practice in all religions. In the same Uttar Pradesh that we are talking about, the names of Muslim settlements and their institutions are also Muslim. Not only the Muslims of the state, but Muslims of the entire India always keep their identity in the forefront, when they have to take advantage, when they have to vote, when they have to protest or agitate against the government or society. Leave that aside, go to any corner of the country. Be it morning or evening, in the neighbourhood or in the market, most Muslims are seen wearing a round cap on their head to express their identity.
Yes, in the last few years some Muslims have hidden their identity when they have to commit a crime. When they have to trap school-college going girls in their love trap. Some Muslims hesitate to reveal their name when they have to go to a Hindu locality and sell vegetables, fruits or clothes. Some Muslims hide their identity even when they have to marry a Hindu girl for the second or third time. These are not just a few examples. Rather, in the recent past, it has been shown on television screens many times how a Muslim cook spits in the food after cooking it in Hindu weddings or festivals. Educated and famous people like Javed Habib apply saliva on someone's head while combing their hair. This happened in Uttar Pradesh as well as in other parts of the country. Now the secular people who are saying that the Uttar Pradesh government has committed a big sin by revealing the names of Muslim shopkeepers, can they deny that no Muslim in the world believes in anyone else from the heart except his religion or his Prophet? For him, purity or devotion is limited only to his religion; service or devotion towards any other religion or sect is nothing but a superficial mind or local pressure.
Can any great secular scholar tell when a Muslim has come to a temple and applied Tilak, or when a Muslim has lit a lamp of devotion in a temple? This is not possible, because Islam does not allow them to do so. If after this truth, any government makes arrangements so that the devotion of Kanwar pilgrims is not disturbed, their fast is not broken or no one can do mischief to them, then what is wrong in it. Think (you have to think) with the devotion with which Shiv bhakts walk hundreds of kilometers carrying Kanwar to offer water in the Shiv temple, if they come to know that their devotion has been corrupted, someone has fed them food in the same utensils in which they always cook or serve meat, then what will happen to them. If they come to know the same thing at the time of Kanwar, then what will be the atmosphere. This Uttar Pradesh, which Muslims call UP, has seen a lot of riots during Kanwar.
This question must be asked to the secular Jamaatis who are creating a ruckus that if shopkeepers write their names on their shops, then how is it an attack on their business? How is it discrimination against them? Who will stop those who want to eat at their shops or buy fruits or vegetables from them? People usually already know about the local Muslim hotel or Hindu hotel. Most hotels also have their own fixed customers. Hey, tell me secularists, then how will their business be ruined by writing their names? This precaution will be taken only for those who are not local. These Kanwar pilgrims pass through that area once or twice a year. The devotees who bring Kanwar from Haridwar are not only from UP, but also from Haryana and Rajasthan. They mostly eat satvik food. How can there be any hidden agenda in protecting them from those who defile them in UP.
The number of Muslims in India is more than the population of any Muslim country. Leaving aside Indonesia, India has the highest number of Muslims. It is not possible that such a large population can be threatened by a Hindu festival. It is also not possible that on someone's orders, the Hindus of the country refuse to do business with Muslims. Stop business transactions with them. Every city of Uttar Pradesh is filled with Muslim traders. Most of the artisans are Muslims. They are also flourishing. Neither can their visits be stopped at any Hindu's place nor can anyone refuse to buy goods from them. Then why is this argument being given that the names of shopkeepers are being registered to target the employment of Muslims.
This is not the case at all. Understand it this way. Just as Muslims observe fasts for a month in a year. They do not want to let any kind of negligence or mistake happen in it. They follow the Islamic rules with utmost sincerity in this holy month. They do not tolerate interference from anyone else, similarly, for Hindus too, the month of Sawan comes only when they are on the roads. They return from their temples by collecting water through new routes. They have the right to know that the food they are eating is according to their faith, the person from whom they are buying prasad or puja material is connected to their religious beliefs and respects it. No Hindu has this feeling with such insistence during Deepawali or Holi. He may or may not know whether the seller of Deepawali diya is of his religion or not, but he still buys it. But he does not want to be careless in Shiv Sadhna or Gayatri Puja. Secular groups should understand this.
