Basit Ali on ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Pakistan is hosting the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Before this, Pakistan has to play bilateral series against Bangladesh, England and West Indies teams on home ground. The series against Bangladesh is going to start from August 21. Former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali has warned the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) regarding the Champions Trophy 2025. He has also alerted the government. Basit said, if any incident happens in the bilateral series, then the Champions Trophy can be taken away from Pakistan.

Basit said on his YouTube channel, 'The next Champions Trophy is going to be held in Pakistan. After Bangladesh, England and West Indies teams are also going to come to Pakistan. We have to keep the security very tight. Because if God forbid something happens, the Champions Trophy will leave Pakistan. Our soldiers are getting martyred in Balochistan and Peshawar. Only the government can tell what is the reason behind this? But this is wrong. The government should also pay attention to this.'

He further said, 'Even a small incident should not happen. If security can be provided to the President and Prime Minister, then the same security should be provided to the foreign team. I hope Mohsin Naqvi (PCB Chairman) is aware of all these things that the Champions Trophy is going to be held during February and March next year. The organization of the Champions Trophy was getting delayed for a long time. It was last played in 2017. Then Pakistan defeated India in the final.

It is not yet clear whether the Indian team will go to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy next year. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has said that the central government will take the final decision on whether the Indian team will go to Pakistan or not. The PCB has left the responsibility of convincing the Indian team to send Pakistan to the International Cricket Council (ICC). According to the draft schedule, all India's matches and the semi-finals and final are likely to be held in Lahore. The match between India and Pakistan will be held on March 1.
