Theft worth lakhs in a locked house in Meerut, ruckus among BJP leaders


Meerut, 08 April (HS). In Nehru Nagar of Civil Line police station area, miscreants stole goods worth lakhs of rupees including gold and silver jewelery from a closed house. When the theft was discovered on Monday, BJP leaders created a ruckus demanding action. The police have been given three days to unravel the incident.

Nehru Nagar resident Mamta's wife Laleram had locked the house with her family on Sunday and went to visit her relatives. When the family returned to their home on Monday afternoon, they found the locks of the house broken. All the household items were lying here and there. Upon investigation, it was found that lakhs of rupees and gold and silver jewelery kept in the house were missing. As soon as the theft was detected in the house, BJP leader Ankit Chaudhary reached the spot along with the workers and informed the Inspector Civil Line about the incident. When police reached the spot, BJP leaders created a ruckus demanding action. BJP leaders said that if the police does not reveal the theft within 24 to 48 hours, then a complaint will be made to higher authorities. The police said that the incident would be revealed soon.
