Koderma, 17 February (Hindustan Reporter). Last night, miscreants made away with jewelery and cash worth more than Rs 1 crore in 14 staff quarters of Koderma Thermal Power Plant. The staff living in the quarters that were targeted were either on night duty or were out of their quarters for some reason.
The thieves entered the house by breaking the door and lock and scattered the items kept in the cupboard, locker, drawer and diwan bed in the house. They also fled with only cash and jewellery. It is being told that the thieves made a tunnel in the outer boundary wall of the plant to enter the plant premises and then entered the residential complex from the solar plant side. The thieves entered different blocks of the plant and targeted the locked quarters.
The family of a couple living in a quarter was about to get married but before that the thieves ran away with the wedding jewelery and cash. People told that when they woke up this morning, they got information about theft in 14 quarters one by one. The incident has been captured in the CCTV installed outside one of the quarters. On information, SP Anudeep Singh and local police visited the spot. SP said that the police will soon investigate the matter and the criminals will be arrested. He has formed SIT under the leadership of DSP Headquarters Purushottam Kumar Singh, which includes station in-charge Rajendra Kumar Rana, SI Amit Kumar, Sunil Paswan, Suman Kumar.
