Hazaribagh, 15 February (Hindus). The meeting of the District Mineral Institute Trust (DMFT) Management Governing Committee was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Nancy Sahay. Hazaribagh MP Jayant Sinha was present in the meeting who reviewed the schemes run under DMFT head.
During the meeting, information was given about the new guidelines regarding expenditure from DMFT item by the Government of India. According to the new guidelines of the Government of India, a radius of 15 kilometers of the mining area has been categorized as directly affected area and a radius of 25 kilometers as indirect mining affected area. Therefore, priority sector schemes will be implemented only in directly and indirectly affected areas. Through this amendment, those beneficiaries of mining affected areas who have not taken advantage of any kind of state government schemes can also be linked to the schemes for pucca houses.
Sinha inquired about the amount spent so far in various schemes from DMFT head and the current status of those schemes. The district administration said that the district has received an amount of Rs 734 crore since 2016. With the amount received, many schemes have been approved in the mining affected areas of the district. Sinha directed to properly utilize these received amounts. He said that 125 people have been appointed in the health department by DMFT including strengthening of Anganwadi centers of the district, repair of health centers, upgradation work of various schools, which is a commendable step. Deputy Commissioner Nancy Sahay said that more and more agencies have been associated for better and timely implementation of schemes related to public interest.
