The vision of Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya gave new impetus to industrial development in rural Uttar Pradesh, 10 proposals of food processing units got green signal, BL Meena.

Keshav Prasad Maurya connected through online mode with Additional Chief Secretary, Horticulture and Food Processing, Uttar Pradesh Government, Shri B. l. An important meeting of the Appraisal Committee constituted under ‘Uttar Pradesh Food Processing Industry Policy-2023’ was held under the chairmanship of Meena.

Out of the total 16 new applications received on the online portal from across the state, 10 complete proposals were thoroughly examined and accepted with a recommendation to forward them to the State Level Empowered Committee (SLEC). These approved proposals include major units related to Pilibhit, Bareilly, Agra, Sitapur, Hathras, Kanpur city and Kushinagar districts. These include proposals related to establishment and expansion of new units manufacturing pulses, papad, snacks, namkeen, multigrain flour, macaroni, pasta, sauce and jaggery as well as establishment of solar power plants for energy conservation. Besides, arrangements have also been made to ensure that raw materials for these units are supplied from local farmers, which will directly benefit at least 100 farmers per unit.
