Gorakhpur, 22 July (HS). Vice Chancellor of Deendayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University, Prof Poonam Tandon inaugurated the first multimedia studio of the university on Monday. This multimedia studio has been built by the Malviya Mission Teachers Training Center of the university.
Vice Chancellor Professor Poonam Tandon said that this is the first multimedia studio of the university. She called upon all the teachers to use this studio to develop online content and courses. The Vice Chancellor said that online and distance education play a very important role in increasing the gross enrollment ratio. Teachers need to develop SWAYAM and MOOC courses. The Vice Chancellor said that we have allowed students to do 40 percent credit through SWAYAM or MOOC online courses.
A big multimedia studio will be constructed soon
The Vice Chancellor said that the university is soon going to build a large multimedia studio which will be located in the new building of the Central Instrumentation Facility of the University. On this occasion, Registrar Professor Shantanu Rastogi also asked all the teachers to take advantage of this new facility and develop new online courses.
Professor Sunita Murmu, Director of the University's Malaviya Mission Teachers Training Centre, said that the aim of this centre is to develop new capabilities in teachers. With this new facility, teachers will be able to contribute in promoting online and distance education. This studio will prove to be an important step in promoting online education.
Professor Murmu also thanked Professor Gaurhari Behera, Director, Centre for Online and Distance Learning, University and Professor Sandeep Kumar, Executive Superintendent for playing an important role in the construction of this studio.
On this occasion, former Director of the Centre, Prof. Rajnikant Pandey, Prof. Kirti Pandey, Deans, Department Heads and teachers were present along with Shailendra Kabir of Sharp Microsys, who built the studio, and others.
