These days a test series is being played between Afghanistan and Ireland. Whose first match has started from Wednesday, 28th February. Let us tell you that the venue of this match was changed shortly before the start of the match. Earlier this match was to be played at Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi. After which now this match is being played at Tolerance Oval. A big reason for suddenly changing the venue of the match has also come to light.
The stadium changed due to a school sports event
Actually, the first Test match between Afghanistan and Ireland was to be played at Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The venue of the match was changed at the last minute due to a local school sports event. In fact, the Abu Dhabi Schools Sports Championship chose Zayed Stadium for its competition.
Match shifted to Tolerance Oval Stadium
The Test match between Afghanistan and Ireland was shifted to the Tolerance Oval Stadium. Now for the first time an international test match is being played at Tolerance Oval. Zayed Stadium in Dubai has a seating capacity of 20,000 while Tolerance Oval has a seating capacity of 12,000.
Matt Boucher, CEO of Abu Dhabi Cricket and Sports Hub, thanked the Afghanistan Cricket Board, Cricket Ireland, Emirates Cricket Board and the International Cricket Council for supporting the change in venue.
This match is very special for Ireland
This test match being played at Tolerance Oval is very special for the Ireland cricket team. Ireland got Test cricket status in the year 2018. After which Ireland has not won a single test match. Now the Irish team would like to taste its first Test victory by defeating Afghanistan in this match. However, it is not so easy for Ireland, Afghanistan is considered a stronger team than Ireland.
