Superintendent of Police Himanshu Kumar held a press conference on Wednesday and informed the media persons about this. He said that on Tuesday a snatching incident took place in the area of Sonvarsha Kachhari Police Station. In this regard, a case number was registered in Sonvarsha Kachhari Police Station. For the successful disclosure and recovery of the case, the SHO Sonvarsha Kachhari and other police officers and personnel of Sonvarsha Kachhari took immediate action on the basis of human and technical information collection and arrested three criminals involved in this incident, Mohd. Owais Alam alias Lalu, Mohd. Navi Alam both son of Mohd. Sattar resident-Kharagpur, Police Station-Sonvarsha Kachhari.
An accomplice of the arrested criminal escaped taking advantage of the darkness. When the arrested criminal was properly searched, a country-made pistol and four live cartridges and six mobile phones snatched from passersby were recovered from him. Based on the information given by the arrested criminal, Ram Kumar Sah alias Rama son of Kanhaiya Sah, resident of Kharagpur, Sonvarsha Court was arrested. The raiding team included Sonvarsha Court police station in-charge Sub Inspector Pushpam Bharti, Rahul Kumar and the police station's armed force personnel.
