The tendency of defection increased among the leaders, the party which P-P kept attacking has made it its candidate

Chandigarh: During the election season, leaders of almost all political parties have trapped the party high command in the trap of defection. No party can escape the color of defection in the Lok Sabha elections. The situation in many assembly constituencies has become such that the party has made candidates only those leaders who were hindering the party in giving tickets before the elections.

Political leaders in Punjab are changing parties like the weather. However, one thing has come to light from these elections that leaders do not have any ideology but the chair is at the top.

As political leaders have changed their parties, their rhetoric has also changed. Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar and MPs Ravneet Bittu, Preneet Kaur, before joining BJP, used to support farmers by opposing the three agricultural laws but now they are supporting the agricultural laws.

Congress party leaders are at the forefront among the defectors. Before the elections, many big leaders including former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, Sunil Jakhar, Gurmeet Singh Sodhi, Sundar Sham Arora have left the party and joined BJP.

Congress Party MP Preneet Kaur, Ravneet Bittu, MLA Dr. Raj Kumar Chabewal, former MLA Gurpreet Singh GP, Himachal Congress deputy in-charge Tejinder Singh Bittu, Karamjit Kaur, wife of former MP Chaudhary Santokh Singh, have left the Congress. Gurpreet GP and Dr. Raj Kumar Chabewal have joined Aam Aadmi Party and the rest have joined BJP.

Similarly, former Akali Dal MLA from Jalandhar Pawan Kumar TNU joined AAP and the party made him its candidate. Former Congress president Mahendra Singh KP joined the Akali Dal on Monday and the party chose him as its candidate. BJP candidate Sushil Rinku had earlier left Congress and joined 'AAP' during the by-election and now has joined BJP after becoming the candidate of 'AAP'. Similarly, AAP MLA Sheetal Angural also left AAP and joined BJP. Former MP of 'AAP' in Patiala. Congress has made Dharamveer Gandhi its candidate. Apart from this, many district level leaders have said goodbye to the parties.
