Team India won the 2024 T20 World Cup. This was the second T20 World Cup title for the Men in Blue. Earlier, the Indian team had won the T20 World Cup trophy in 2007. This time i.e. in 2024, India won the T20 World Cup under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma and coaching of Rahul Dravid. As soon as the World Cup ended, Rahul Dravid's tenure also ended. Now before leaving, Dravid made a special request to Virat Kohli.
Rahul Dravid made a request to Virat
While leaving Team India, Rahul Dravid had told Virat Kohli that he has ticked all the boxes for the white ball. Now only the red ball box remains to be ticked. Kohli has won all the ICC white ball trophies including the ODI World Cup in 2011, the Champions Trophy in 2013 and the T20 World Cup in 2024. Now King Kohli has to win only the red ball trophy i.e. the World Test Championship.
Team India has played the final of the World Test Championship twice
Two seasons of the World Test Championship have been played so far. Team India has reached the final both times. But both times India had to face defeat. The final of the first edition was played in 2021, in which Team India lost to New Zealand. Then the final of the second edition was played in 2023, in which the Indian team had to face defeat at the hands of Australia. Now it will be interesting to see whether Team India is able to reach the final of the World Test Championship to be played in 2025 or not.
