The tanker was standing on the side, the accident happened due to overtaking by the car coming from behind, 9 out of 10 dead identified

Nadiad, 17 April (HIST). 10 people died in a road accident near Nadiad on Ahmedabad-Vadodara Express Highway. Due to a technical fault, a car coming from behind at a speed of 120 collided with a tanker parked on the roadside. Ten people (eight men including one woman, one girl) died in this accident. The car driver is said to be from Rajasthan. The driver was going to take a shuttle ride with 10 people in a seven seater car and drop them to the destination. Meanwhile, everyone in the car died in the accident.

Police said that 09 dead have been identified. All of them are said to be residents of Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Valsad, Nadiad, Deesa, Mumbai and Rajasthan. The atmosphere was filled with chaos as the relatives of the deceased reached the hospital. According to the information, on Wednesday afternoon a car was going from Vadodara towards Ahmedabad on the Ahmedabad-Vadodara Expressway. Near Nadiad, a tanker was standing on the roadside due to breakdown. Meanwhile, the car came at a speed of about 120 and collided with the tanker. The speeding car flew away. The accident was so severe that a crane had to be used to pull out the car that was stuck behind the tanker.

According to the information, 8 people died at the spot. Two others died in the hospital. District Superintendent of Police Rajesh Gadhiya said that due to technical fault in the tanker, it was standing on the roadside. Meanwhile, while trying to overtake the tanker from the left side, the car collided with the back of the tanker. The tanker was going from Pune to Jammu.

Kheda Collector Amit Prakash Yadav said that 9 dead people have been identified in the car and tanker accident. Efforts are being made to identify one. The deceased 10 are all different. Are not members of any one family. The deceased are being identified on the basis of their belongings and mobile phones. Everyone's family has been informed. State Congress President Shaktisingh Gohil has expressed grief over the incident. Mahant Dilipdas Maharaj of Jagannath Temple has also expressed grief over the incident.
