Mayotte Cyclone Chido: Cyclone Chido, with a speed of 200 kilometers per hour, has wreaked havoc on the French island of Mayotte, which people are calling like an atomic bomb. The entire locality has been cleaned except the houses, hospitals and markets. Hundreds of people have died due to this storm that came late on Saturday night. It is being said that the death toll could be more than 1 thousand.

It is the worst storm and the biggest disaster to hit the island of Mayotte in 90 years. According to French TV reports, hundreds of people died in this tragedy.

No place to bury the dead body…
Earlier on Sunday, the Home Ministry had confirmed the death of at least 11 people and injuries to more than 250 people. But later, as the debris was removed, the figure increased rapidly. A local resident said, “Frankly, what we are experiencing is a tragedy. The condition of this island is like the scene after a nuclear war. “I have seen entire neighborhoods disappearing before my eyes.” Power supply is off.
In the Muslim community, the dead body has to be buried within 24 hours of death, but the conditions here are so bad that it is not possible to bury the dead body on such a large scale.
More than 1 million illegal immigrants live in Mayotte, according to a government agency , More than 75 percent of the population is extremely poor. Additionally, it has been battling gang wars and social unrest for decades. Now the storm has completed the remaining work.

According to the French weather service, Chido brought winds of more than 220 kilometers per hour, damaging several houses in Mayotte. Spread over two main islands about 800 kilometers off the east coast of Africa, Mayotte has a population of more than 3 lakh. At some places entire areas were destroyed. Local residents said many trees were uprooted and boats capsized or sank. French President Emmanuel Macron said he was monitoring the situation closely.
