Gold prices today: Gold and silver prices rose in the domestic markets amid reports of festive shopping. Gold has become costlier by Rs. 750 in two days at the start of the second week of Shravan month. The price of silver has also increased. Yesterday in Ahmedabad, gold became costlier by Rs. 500 after becoming costlier today. There are indications of an increase in the range of 250-300. The price of gold in Ahmedabad is being quoted around Rs. 72750 per 10 grams (24 carats). While silver is expected to remain between Rs. 82000-82500.

Gold-Silver Status on MCX
Gold and silver prices also declined on the country's top bullion exchange MCX today following yesterday's fall in the global precious metal market. MCX gold was down by Rs. 137 to Rs. 70601 per 10 grams (October 4 futures) and MCX silver prices fell by Rs. 573 to Rs. 81051 per 10 grams (September 5).
Bullion investors are now booking profits in view of the inflation data to be released in the US. Globally, spot gold was down by $ 4.50 at $ 2499.50 an ounce and silver was down by -1.05 per cent at $ 27.71 an ounce. However, palladium was up by $ 3.60 at $ 903 an ounce.
