Dehradun, 20 August (HS). Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan has said that the assembly is run by the money earned by the taxpayers and it should be fully utilized for the development of the state.
Assembly Speaker Ritu Bhushan Khanduri left for Gairsain Assembly building by road for the monsoon session that is starting. During this, he was welcomed and honored by the workers in Maletha (Devprayag).
During this, while emphasizing the importance of the assembly session, he said that this session is run with the earnings of the taxpayer public, and it should be fully utilized for the development of the state.
The speaker expected all the legislators and officers to discharge their duties with efficiency, transparency and accountability. The objective of this session is to solve the problems of the state and give priority to development works, so that the public can get real benefits.
While wishing all the MLAs the best for the upcoming session, the Speaker of the Assembly said that this session will prove to be positive and progressive for the state.
On this occasion, local leaders and citizens also appreciated this tree plantation programme and took pledge to fulfill their responsibility towards the environment.
Earlier, on reaching Rudraprayag, he planted trees along with party workers and local residents under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign launched by Prime Minister Modi.
