Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde spoke openly on the rebellion in Shiv Sena for the first time. Addressing Shiv Sena workers in Nagpur, Shinde said that I did not want to become the Chief Minister but seeing the ideology of Bal Thackeray being compromised, I had to rebel.

It is noteworthy that Shinde had broken ties with Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena in June 2022 and formed the government with the support of BJP. Taking a dig at Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray, Chief Minister Shinde said that party officials considered Bala Saheb Thackeray as a friend but Uddhav started treating us like a servant of the house. Any party moves forward when the leader reaches out to the workers at the grassroots level instead of sitting at home.
