Kolkata, August 12 (HS). The weather will remain generally cloudy in the next 24 hours in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, and other parts of the state. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are expected. The maximum temperature is likely to be around 32 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is likely to be around 27 degrees Celsius.
According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature on Monday was recorded at 32.2 degrees Celsius, which is 0.2 degrees below normal. The minimum temperature was recorded at 28.2 degrees Celsius, which is 1.4 degrees above normal. The maximum humidity level is expected to be 91 percent and the minimum is 69 percent. Only a little rain has been recorded in Kolkata in the last 24 hours.
Similar weather conditions will prevail in other districts of Bengal. North and South 24 Parganas, Howrah, Hooghly, and Medinipur districts will also remain cloudy. Light to moderate rain is also expected here, which may cause a slight drop in temperature.
Hooghly and Howrah districts may witness thunderstorms, while Medinipur and Burdwan districts are more likely to receive light rains.
Continuous rain is going to continue in Alipurdurwar, Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling and Kalimpong of North Bengal.
Overall, light rain conditions will continue in most parts of Bengal during the next 24 hours, which may provide some relief to the people from the humidity.
