Hisar, May 30 (HS). A massive fire suddenly broke out in the reeds kept in Sayani pond in the town of Barwala in the district. The fire in the reeds was so fierce that the people living nearby were scared of the flames. People tried to extinguish the fire at their own level but the fire took a more horrific form.

It is being told that this fire which started on Thursday afternoon spread to a tent shop on one side. On the other side, the cattle shed also caught fire. After getting the information, the fire brigade team reached the spot and controlled the fire. A tent warehouse built near the pond was engulfed in the fire. Goods worth lakhs of rupees kept in the warehouse were reduced to ashes by the fire. People informed the fire brigade about the fire. After getting the information, four fire brigade vehicles reached the spot, which controlled the fire after about four hours of hard work.

Navdeep, the owner of the tent shop, said that the spark reached our tent warehouse after the dry reeds standing in Sayani Johar caught fire. He said that chairs, tables, carpets, curtains, mats and fans and other items kept in the warehouse were burnt to ashes in the fire. Navdeep says that he has suffered a loss of several lakh rupees in this fire. The victim has also demanded compensation from the administration. He said that he has been doing tent business for many years.
