Chandigarh: On the lines of Chhattisgarh and Karnataka states, there is a demand to enact an anti-superstition law in Punjab to curb the illegal activities of so-called sages, tantrics and so-called saints.

The rational leaders alleged that the false and illegal advertisements of medicines and magical remedies by these heretical Tantriks and Babas are in strict violation of the Medical Registration Act, including the Objectionable Advertisements Act, 1954 and the Cable Television Regulation Act, 1994, but the Union Ministry of Information, Punjab Police and No action is being taken against him by the civil administration.
